Our Story
How it started
The initial blueprint for Congestless was developed as a side project while our founder, Lewis, was an undergraduate student. After graduating, Lewis continued working on this side project in the hope that it could form the basis of a commercially viable business. Following much hard work and perseverance, Congestless Limited was formally incorporated in March 2026.
Where we are now
We are currently working on a proof-of-concept analysis in which we will estimate the effectiveness of Congestless, based on a hypothetical deployment within London’s Congestion Charge zone. You can find out more about this analysis here.
Looking ahead...
Given the rapid growth in urban population, road congestion is becoming an ever-increasing problem. Space is already at a premium in urban areas, meaning new roads are either physically impossible or prohibitively expensive. Therefore, unless something changes, towns and cities across the world are headed for gridlock. This is why we believe that Congestless and other similar innovations will soon be commonplace.
However, our vision for the future does not only involve a world with less congested roads; rather, we envisage a world where urban areas are more liveable for all. You can find out more about the sustainability benefits of Congestless here.
